In a heartfelt gesture ahead of the Spring Festival 🎉, Chinese President Xi Jinping braved the chilly weather to visit Zhujiagou Village in Huludao City, Liaoning Province, on Wednesday.
The village, which was hit hard by devastating floods in the summer of 2024 🌊, has been rebuilding ever since. Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, wanted to see firsthand how the people were faring.
\"Huludao suffered severe flooding last year. I have been concerned about you and came to see you before the Spring Festival,\" Xi told the villagers warmly 🤗.
Strolling through the village, Xi inspected the progress of post-disaster reconstruction 🏘️. \"What I've seen today makes me feel relieved,\" he said, acknowledging the efforts made in rebuilding homes and communities.
\"We have always put the people first,\" Xi emphasized. \"The people can always count on the Party and the government in their most difficult times, and we will help them overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes.\"
Last year saw a number of natural disasters across the country 🌪️, and Xi expressed his belief that restoration and reconstruction in the affected areas will yield positive results 💪.
The visit comes just in time for the Spring Festival, the most important holiday in China, which falls on January 29 this year 🧧. Xi's personal outreach highlights the government's commitment to supporting its people, especially in times of hardship.
The spirit of unity and resilience shines bright in Zhujiagou Village as they prepare to welcome the new year with hope and renewed strength 🌟.
