China Slams U.S. Military Report, Calls for Trust and Respect 🇨🇳🤝🇺🇸

Beijing — In a bold statement this Saturday, Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to the recent U.S. Department of Defense report on China's military and security developments.

Zhang accused the report of distorting China's national defense policy and interfering in internal affairs. \\"They're hyping up the so-called 'Chinese military threat' 🙄,\\" Zhang remarked, emphasizing that China pursues a path of peaceful development and maintains a defensive national defense policy.

Throwing some shade back at the U.S., Zhang highlighted, \\"The U.S. has illegally launched wars and military operations against Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and others, leading to severe humanitarian disasters. Who's the real threat to global security? 🤔\\"

He reaffirmed China's commitment to a self-defensive nuclear strategy and its policy of no-first-use of nuclear weapons. In contrast, Zhang pointed out concerns over the trilateral cooperation among the U.S., the UK, and Australia on nuclear-powered submarines, suggesting it undermines international and regional peace and stability.

Emphasizing the importance of mutual respect, Zhang said, \\"China values the relationship between our militaries. We hope the U.S. can view China's development positively and work with us to build trust and avoid conflict. Let's build a bridge, not a wall! 🌉\\"

He urged the U.S. to stop fabricating false narratives and to promote healthy, stable relations between the two countries' militaries. \\"Year after year, these irresponsible reports don't help anyone. Let's focus on peace, stability, and trust,\\" Zhang concluded.
