Hey there, world explorers! 🌍 Did you know that in 2024, about 14,000 young Americans took a trip to the Chinese mainland for exchange and study programs? 📚✈️
At an event in Washington D.C. on Friday, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng shared this exciting news. He mentioned that since President Xi Jinping announced the plan to invite 50,000 young Americans over the next five years, thousands have already made the journey! 🙌
\"In November last year, President Xi announced in San Francisco that China is ready to invite 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study programs in the next five years,\" Ambassador Xie said. \"Over the past year, President Xi invited American youths to visit China on multiple occasions, which was warmly received here in the States.\" 🇺🇸❤️🇨🇳
Ambassador Xie highlighted that this initiative, known as the YES program (Young Envoys Scholarship), is all about building bridges between young people from both countries. 🌉 \"It has provided an effective platform that brings our youths closer, opened up an important window for better understanding China, and ushered in a new chapter of friendship between the Chinese and American peoples,\" he shared. 🤝
Despite some bumps along the way, Ambassador Xie is optimistic. He encouraged everyone to \"continue removing disruptions, stay undaunted by the chilling effect, oppose any backpedaling, and move forward hand in hand.\" ✊✨
Over 300 guests attended Friday's event, including students and teachers who visited China this year. Two lively panel discussions took place, with participants sharing their amazing experiences and hopes for future exchanges. 🎙️💬
So, are you ready to pack your bags and be part of this incredible journey? 🌠 The future is bright for U.S.-China youth exchanges, and you could be next! 🚀
