China Rejects US Claims of Overseas ‘Police Stations’, Urges Cooperation

🚫 No Overseas Police Stations Here!

China has strongly denied the United States' claims that it operates overseas \"police stations\", urging American officials to drop the accusations and focus on fostering better China-US relations. 🇨🇳🤝🇺🇸

At a press briefing on Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning addressed the issue head-on. \"The so-called Chinese overseas 'police stations' do not exist,\" she declared, emphasizing that such allegations are baseless and are harming the cooperation between China and the US.

The controversy sparked after Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued three executive orders on November 18, aiming to prevent these alleged \"police stations\" from operating in the US. He claimed that the Chinese government had set up \"police service stations\" across the world, a move that has raised eyebrows in Beijing. 🧐

Mao Ning highlighted that Chinese law enforcement agencies strictly adhere to international law when engaging in global cooperation. \"We fully respect foreign laws and judicial sovereignty,\" she said, adding that China safeguards the legal rights of criminal suspects in accordance with the law.

She also pointed out the mutual benefits of China-US economic and trade cooperation. \"Over the years, Chinese investments in the US have made significant contributions to employment and economic development,\" Mao noted. 💼💰

The spokesperson cautioned that politicizing and securitizing economic and trade issues goes against market economy principles and international trade rules. Such actions, she argued, undermine confidence in the US market environment and do not help American economic growth.

Mao Ning urged US officials to stop making unfounded accusations and to do more to promote cooperation between the two countries. \"Let's focus on building bridges, not walls,\" she suggested, hinting at a more collaborative future. 🌉✨
