At the heart of Zhengzhou, the birthplace of Shaolin martial arts, a group of international warriors gathered to test their mettle. 🥋
During the 13th Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Competition, 33 athletes from 10 different countries took on the ultimate challenge: the Shaolin Wushu Duanwei grading examination.
For these martial artists, it's not just about throwing punches and kicks. To earn recognition at the elementary level, they've dedicated at least three years to intense, systematic practice. Talk about commitment! 💪
But the real test comes at the advanced level. Applicants need to showcase not only their physical mastery but also their deep understanding of wushu theory and philosophy. Plus, they've got to have made significant contributions to the world of martial arts. Think of it as the black belt of Shaolin Wushu. ⚫️
CGTN host Sergey Gordeev caught up with some of these international athletes to hear about their hopes and dreams for the grading exam. Their passion and dedication are truly inspiring! ✨
Whether they're from across the globe or just around the corner, these warriors are chasing their Shaolin dreams and bringing the spirit of wushu to the world.
