CIIE 2024: Global Innovation and Cooperation Shine in China 🌟

From November 5 to 10, the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) lit up Shanghai, showcasing the latest and greatest in global innovation and cooperation! 🌍✨ With a whopping $80.01 billion in tentative deals for one-year purchases—up 2% from last year—the expo was a massive success.

Over 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions came together, making the CIIE a melting pot of cultures and ideas. Among them, 186 enterprises and institutions have been part of every CIIE since the beginning, while many others made their debut this year. It's like the Avengers assembling, but for international trade! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

For multinational companies keen on a strong presence in China, the expo is the place to be. Li Jingcheng, vice president of Asia Strategy and Business Development for global automotive giant FORVIA, shared some impressive insights. He revealed that revenue from the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector accounts for 45% of FORVIA's total earnings in China. 🚗⚡

\"In FORVIA's global strategy, China has consistently been one of the most important markets,\" Li said. He pointed out that China has held the title of the world's largest automotive market for 14 consecutive years and is setting global trends, especially in the NEV sector. Talk about leading the pack! 🏆

\"We hope to channel global innovation resources into China and plan to establish a global R&D center here within the next two to three years,\" Li added. Sounds like exciting times ahead! 🔬🚀

But it's not just about the numbers. According to a research report from one of the CIIE's official forums, the expo's spillover effect index has soared by 169% from the first CIIE in 2018 to the sixth in 2023. That's some serious growth! 📈

\"The impact of the CIIE goes far beyond the expo itself; its spillover effect has deeply influenced international procurement, consumption upgrades, investment promotion, cultural exchange, and open cooperation,\" noted Li Qingjuan, director of the Think Tank Center at Fanhai International School of Finance of Fudan University. \"It has become a crucial driver in China's efforts to accelerate the creation of a new development pattern and pursue high-quality development.\" 🌐💡

And the excitement doesn't stop there! Recruitment for CIIE 2025 kicked off in July. Already, 80 enterprises and organizations—including big names like Mercedes-Benz, Zeiss, Estée Lauder, Bayer, and the Singapore Business Federation—have signed up for the eighth CIIE next year. They've reserved nearly 50,000 square meters of exhibition space, showing just how fired up global businesses are about this event! 🔥

The CIIE is more than just an expo; it's a global stage where innovation meets opportunity. Can't wait to see what's in store for next year! 🎉
