🌏 China Reaffirms UN Support: Wang Yi Meets UNGA President Philemon Yang

China's foreign minister Wang Yi met with Philemon Yang, the president of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), in Beijing on Thursday. 🇨🇳🤝🌐

Emphasizing China's long-standing commitment to the UN, Wang Yi declared, \\"China has always been a supporter and contributor to the cause of the United Nations.\\" 💪✨

Philemon Yang, hailing from Cameroon 🇨🇲, is visiting China from Wednesday to Sunday. Sworn in at the closing of the 78th UNGA session in September, Yang's visit marks a strengthening of ties between China and the UN. 🤝

Welcoming Yang's visit, Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the UNGA as a platform for equal consultation and cooperation among all countries. 🌍✨

Wang Yi called on the UN to serve as a force for justice in safeguarding world peace and to lead in addressing hot-spot issues. He advocated for dialogue, consultation, and win-win results instead of conflicts and zero-sum approaches. 🕊️✌️

Expressing hopes for the UN to champion multilateralism, Wang encouraged a clear stance against unilateralism and hegemony. He also stressed the importance of enhancing the voice of the Global South in global governance. 🌐🌱

Philemon Yang commended China's rapid economic development and its commitment to multilateralism. He noted that China plays a stable and constructive role in international affairs, advocating for resolving disputes through dialogue and supporting developing countries like Cameroon. 🌟🌍

Yang affirmed that the UN will continue to adhere to the one-China principle, thanking China for its long-term support. He expressed confidence that China will play an indispensable role in promoting sustainable development and cooperation in areas like financial system reform, artificial intelligence, and youth exchanges. 🚀🤖👥
