Indonesia & Peru Strike Swift CEPA Deal

At a lively ceremony in Jakarta, Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto and Peru’s President Dina Boluarte shook hands to seal a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) designed to supercharge trade between the regions. 🌍🤝

After heartfelt anthems and a marching band welcome, the leaders witnessed the signing of a deal that took only 14 months to negotiate—something that normally takes years! 🚀

Under CEPA, tariffs will be reduced, opening doors for Indonesian exports like palm oil, textiles, and electronics to reach new customers across Central and South America. In return, suppliers of Peruvian minerals, coffee, and seafood will find an eager market in Southeast Asia.

“This agreement will expand market access and boost trade activity between the two countries,” President Prabowo said, highlighting plans for cooperation in defense, food security, energy, fisheries, and mining.

Last year, exports from Indonesia to Peru hit $329.4 million, while Peru sent $149.6 million worth of goods to Indonesia. With CEPA in place, those numbers are set to rise—bringing fresh opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors, and students tracking global market trends. 📈💼

Boluarte’s visit is a friendly follow-up to Prabowo’s trip to Lima for the APEC Summit. As young professionals, students, and curious travelers, keep an eye on this new bridge between Asia and South America—it could be your next big adventure or business breakthrough! 🌟✈️
