Northeast Asia Trade Soars to $900B in 2024

A robust trade wave is washing over Northeast Asia in 2024! According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, trade between the Chinese mainland and five key Northeast Asian countries reached an impressive $901.6 billion, marking a 1.6% increase from last year. This surge represents nearly 15% of the Chinese mainland's total foreign trade.

The report highlights that the Chinese mainland continues to be the largest trading partner for Russia, Mongolia, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.

Yan Dong, Vice Minister of Commerce, revealed that two-way investments between the Chinese mainland and these nations surpassed $7 billion. Notably, collaboration is expanding into emerging sectors such as the digital economy, green development, advanced manufacturing, and modern services — areas set to boost innovation and create exciting opportunities! 🚀

Looking to the future, the 15th China-Northeast Asia Expo will take place from August 27 to 31, 2025, in Changchun, Jilin Province. Under the theme "Joining Hands in Northeast Asia for a Shared Future Through Openness," this event aims to further strengthen economic ties and open doors to transformative partnerships across the region. 🤝
