New data from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) reveals that China's foreign trade remains robust even as global disputes intensify. The global economic and trade friction index for March hit 126, a figure that reflects the heightened tensions in international trade.
Trade measures surged by 26.1% year on year and an eye-popping 152.3% month on month. Among the 20 countries and regions tracked, the United States and India led the pack, with the U.S. registering the highest trade-related measures for nine consecutive months in the first quarter of 2025.
In spite of these challenges, China's foreign trade continues to shine. In April 2025, trade promotion agencies issued 711,500 certificates—including certificates of origin, ATA carnets, and commercial documents—marking a 21.45% increase compared to the previous year. This growth has positioned trade volumes at the second-highest level on record, signaling a stronger-than-expected performance.
This impressive resilience is a testament to the dynamic strategies employed by trade agencies in the Chinese mainland. For young entrepreneurs, professionals, and culture enthusiasts, it's a powerful reminder that innovation and determination can drive success even amidst global headwinds. 🚀🌍
