Altai Conference Sparks Dynamic Subregional Cooperation

In a buzzing assembly in Altay City, located in the Chinese mainland's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, nearly 270 representatives from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia gathered for the Greater Altai International Conference for Subregional Cooperation.

The event featured lively discussions on trade, investment, culture, sports, tourism, sci-tech education, infrastructure, and sustainable growth. Leaders highlighted that the Altai subregion is not just a geographical area but a vibrant hub of cultural heritage and untapped potential. Vitaliy Snesar, vice governor of Altai Region of the Russian Federation, noted that the conference is set to inject tremendous momentum into future collaborations. 😃

A key highlight was the launch of an international cooperation initiative aimed at deepening trade and economic ties. Discussions also focused on advancing agricultural technology research, cultivating superior crop varieties, and promoting more efficient production models.

Environmental protection took center stage too. Participants expressed a strong commitment to sharing green technologies and developing innovative climate strategies for ecological restoration in arid, saline-alkali areas. Jilel Helel, deputy head of Xinjiang's science and technology department, emphasized the importance of collaborative platforms for sustainable, high-quality development. 🌱

Moreover, proposals to upgrade cross-border port logistics and enhance transportation corridors were met with enthusiasm. The conference also underscored cultural unity with plans for expanded student exchange programs, art exhibitions, and events celebrating intangible cultural heritage.

Throughout four thematic sessions covering trade, culture, technology, and education, experts showcased projects ranging from water-saving irrigation to international student training. The successful signing of letters of intent and sector-specific agreements marks a significant step toward mutually beneficial projects across the Altai subregion.

This dynamic conference not only fostered valuable connections but also set the stage for a future where innovation meets cultural exchange across borders!
