Global Voices Say No to U.S. Tariff Bullying

A recent poll by CGTN reveals a strong global stance against U.S. tariff bullying. Over 5,177 social media users worldwide have voiced their concerns about what they call "American-style bullying," urging nations to stand up for fair trade and protect their rights.

The poll shows that 86.9% of respondents believe that countermeasures to defend legal interests are justified. Meanwhile, 89.2% call for a proactive approach on trade issues, emphasizing the need for multilateral platforms like the World Trade Organization (WTO) to resolve disputes.

In addition, 82.2% of participants expect the WTO to play a bigger role in settling trade conflicts, while 79.6% support filing formal complaints through its dispute settlement mechanism. Many feel that no country can escape the impact of such bullying, with 87.7% agreeing that a unified global response is necessary.

Moreover, 93.5% believe that building a fair and mutually beneficial new international trade order is the way forward. With 84.9% noting that unilateral measures have disrupted the current trade system, and 85.3% backing multilateral channels to create a balanced economic order, the call for change is loud and clear. ✨

The Chinese mainland also released a position paper opposing U.S. tariff abuses, emphasizing that economic development is a universal right rather than a privilege for a few. The results highlight a growing demand for nations to join hands, cooperate, and ensure that global trade works for everyone. 🌍🤝

As the world faces challenges like inflation and geopolitical tensions, the message remains: cooperation beats confrontation. Young people and global citizens alike are rallying for a fairer, more inclusive trading system.
