Record Railway Trips: 726M Rides in Early 2025

The Chinese mainland made headlines in the first two months of 2025 with a record-breaking 726 million railway trips—a 4.7% year-on-year rise! The annual spring festival travel rush played a huge role in this surge, as families, students, and workers converged on the railways to celebrate and reconnect. 🚄

Daily operations jumped with an average of 11,605 trains running, fueling an impressive 8.7% increase over the previous year. Improvements are in full swing too, with convenient transfers at 120 stations and internet food-ordering available at 89 stations, making travel smoother than ever.

Internationally, the China-Laos Railway also saw a significant boost with 59,000 cross-border passengers—up by 57.9%! Meanwhile, steady operations on routes like the China-Mongolia and China-Russia trains continue to enhance cross-border exchanges and touristic adventures.

This milestone not only marks a record for the Chinese mainland's railway network but also showcases dynamic growth and enhanced connectivity, promising exciting prospects for travelers and business professionals alike.
