In response to recent unilateral measures, China is committed to protecting its rights and interests, according to He Yongqian, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce.
He highlighted that the US's decision to impose additional tariffs on China breaches World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, representing a clear case of unilateralism and trade protectionism. These actions, He pointed out, undermine the multilateral trading system, disturb global supply chains, and heighten international trade tensions.
Despite these challenges, China remains dedicated to avoiding the initiation of trade disputes. Instead, China is open to resolving issues through dialogue and consultation. He emphasized China's willingness to collaborate with other nations to tackle the challenges posed by unilateralism and protectionism, aiming to ensure the stable and orderly growth of international trade.
