In a recent move, China’s Ministry of Commerce has added two U.S. firms, PVH Corp. and Illumina, Inc., to its unreliable entity list. 
The Ministry cited violations of normal market trading principles, termination of regular trade with Chinese companies, and discriminatory measures against them, stating that these actions have severely harmed the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese businesses.
This decision aligns with China’s efforts to maintain national sovereignty, security, and development interests, according to the Ministry’s statement. The unreliable entity list mechanism will enforce corresponding measures against the listed entities based on relevant laws and regulations.
Addressing media inquiries, a spokesperson from the Ministry emphasized that China handles matters related to the unreliable entity list prudently, targeting only a few foreign entities that disrupt market rules and violate Chinese laws. 
The spokesperson reassured that foreign entities operating with integrity and in compliance with the law have no reason for concern. Furthermore, China continues to welcome enterprises worldwide to invest and conduct business within the country, committing to providing a stable, fair, and predictable business environment for compliant foreign companies.
