🇲🇽 Mexico Strikes Back! President Sheinbaum Hits U.S. Tariffs with Retaliation

🇲🇽 Mexico City, Saturday — Mexico isn't backing down! President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that Mexico will retaliate against the tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump with its own tariffs and other measures. 😠

In a fiery statement, Sheinbaum rejected Washington's accusation that her government has alliances with drug trafficking groups, calling it pure \"slander.\" She emphasized that Mexico seeks collaboration and dialogue, not confrontation, with its northern neighbor. 🤝

\"We categorically reject the White House's slander that the Mexican government has alliances with criminal organizations, as well as any intention of meddling in our territory,\" Sheinbaum wrote in a lengthy post on X (formerly known as Twitter). 🐦

This bold move comes after U.S. President Trump signed an order imposing tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China. 🌐

The Mexican president, who has repeatedly sought to calm tensions with Trump, highlighted her government's achievements since taking office in October. She noted the seizure of 20 million doses of the deadly synthetic opioid fentanyl and the detention of over 100,000 individuals linked to drug trafficking. 🚨

Meanwhile, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also announced that Canada would impose 25% tariffs on C$155 billion ($106.5 billion) worth of U.S. goods in response to the U.S. tariffs. \"C$30 billion worth of goods will take effect on Tuesday, while C$125 billion will be implemented in 21 days,\" Trudeau said in a news conference. 🇨🇦💥

The escalating trade tensions have young entrepreneurs and professionals watching closely. Will this trade face-off shake the global markets? 🌎💼 Stay tuned for more updates!
