China’s Spring Festival Travel Soars: Over 300 Million Trips in a Single Day 🚀

China is on the move! 🚗🚄✈️ On Friday, more than 304 million inter-regional passenger trips were made across the country, marking the fourth day of this year's Spring Festival holiday. This festive frenzy is all about family reunions, and it's sending China's transportation networks into overdrive!

For the first time during this year's chunyun (Spring Festival travel rush), daily trips surpassed the 300 million mark. That's a whole lot of journeys packed into just 24 hours! But what's fueling this massive migration?

Road trips took the lead, jumping by 6.9% from the previous year to reach a whopping 288.44 million journeys on Friday alone. Highways were humming not just with traditional vehicles, but also a surge of new energy vehicles (NEVs). With more charging options than ever before, it's easier for eco-friendly cars to hit the road and join the holiday hustle. ⚡🚙

But it's not just the roads that are buzzing. Rail and air travel also saw significant upticks, rising by 5.3% and 3.6% respectively. Railway authorities across various regions have ramped up capacity on popular routes and enhanced services to keep up with the soaring demand. Talk about going the extra mile! 🚂✈️

Looking ahead, chunyun is set to break records. An astonishing 9 billion trips are expected during the travel period in 2025, which runs from January 14 to February 22. That's more than the entire population of the world taking a trip—times over! 🌍

This year, the Spring Festival fell on January 29, and travelers are embracing every opportunity to connect with loved ones, explore new destinations, and make the most of the holiday season. Whether by road, rail, or air, the spirit of adventure and reunion is in full swing across China. 🧳❤️
