😮 Did you know that half of American households hold only 2.4% of the nation's wealth?
Recently, the official Weibo account of the U.S. Embassy in China shared some eye-opening stats from the Federal Reserve. By the end of 2023, the net worth of American households reached a record high of $156.2 trillion. With about 130 million households in the U.S., that averages out to a whopping $1.2 million per household.
But hold on! The median net worth per household is actually $192,000. This means that half of U.S. households have less than this amount. 📉
This huge gap highlights the wealth inequality in the U.S., where a small percentage controls most of the wealth, while many are left with much less. It's a serious issue that affects the economy and society as a whole.
