Rev up your engines, folks! 🚗⚡ China and the European Union are deep in talks, working out the details on price commitments for Chinese electronic vehicles (EVs). It's like the ultimate negotiation race!

He Yongqian, spokesperson for the Chinese Commerce Ministry, spilled the tea at a press conference on Thursday. When asked about the EU slapping tariffs on EVs from China, she shared that the EU technical team rolled into Beijing on November 2.

\"Right now, both parties are hustling in intensive negotiations over the nitty-gritty of the price commitments, keeping it real with pragmatism and balance,\" she said.

Flashback to October 25, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and European Commission EVP and Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis hopped on a video call. They were all about that dialogue life, showing the political will to iron out differences and agreeing to stick with price commitments as the go-to solution for the EU's anti-subsidy case against Chinese EVs.

Then on October 29, plot twist! The EU announced it would drop definitive countervailing duties up to 35.3% on Chinese EVs for the next five years. But wait, there's more—they still wanted to chat with China about those price commitments.

Fast forward to November 4, and China hit back, appealing to the World Trade Organization against the EU's final ruling on the countervailing measures. 🚀

Looks like this EV saga is just getting started. Stay tuned for more twists and turns in this high-speed negotiation journey! 🏎️💨
