China and Germany Rev Up Talks on EV Tariffs in Berlin 🚗🤝

Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck in Berlin on Tuesday. The duo had an open-hearted chat about the EU's proposed tariffs on electric vehicles (EVs) from China 🗣️🚗.

Wang didn't hold back, expressing that these tariffs could seriously jam up trade and investment between China and Germany, hitting both economies where it hurts 💔. He called for a solution that vibes with World Trade Organization rules to dodge any messy trade drama between China and the EU 🌐.

Habeck was on the same wavelength. He emphasized Germany's support for free trade and gave a warm welcome to Chinese auto and parts companies investing in Germany ✨. He also stood against the EU's tariffs on Chinese EVs.

Germany plans to nudge the European Commission to find a chill solution with China, aiming to steer clear of any economic and trade beef 🤞.

Looks like both countries are hitting the accelerator towards smoother trade relations! 🚀
