Xinjiang Unveils New TIR Hub Boosting Cross-Border Trade 🌏🚚

Hey there, globetrotters and trade enthusiasts! 🌍 Guess what? Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region just amped up the cross-border trade game! On Wednesday, a brand-new TIR assembly center, certified by the International Road Transport Union (IRU), started its engines in Urumqi, Xinjiang's buzzing capital.

So, what's TIR all about? 🤔 TIR stands for Transports Internationaux Routiers (that's International Road Transports, BTW). It's like the VIP pass for customs transit systems, speeding up and cutting costs for goods zooming across borders. 🚛💨

This isn't Xinjiang's first rodeo, though! Following the launch of the first TIR center in May, this new hub is a big leap in turbocharging cross-border logistics, seamlessly blending railway and international road transport. Talk about leveling up! 🎮✨

\"The TIR assembly center is set to offer more diverse and flexible transport solutions for enterprises, boosting the muscle of cross-border logistics,\" shared Si Junjiang, president of Xinjiang International Land Port (Group) Co., Ltd.

And there's more! \"We're all in to streamline the TIR customs clearance process. Think customs clearance reservations and business consultations — all to attract more foreign trade enterprises and make cross-border trade a breeze,\" said Lyu Xuenong, deputy head of Wuchang Customs.

Throwback to May, when Kashgar in Xinjiang proudly became home to China's first IRU-certified TIR assembly center. 🚀

And here’s the cherry on top 🍒: In the first half of this year, Xinjiang’s foreign trade volume zoomed past 200 billion yuan (about $28 billion) — hitting this milestone two months earlier than last year! That's a whopping 48.4% year-on-year growth. Talk about making moves! 💹🔥
