Germany's auto industry is hitting the brakes on new EU tariffs! 🚗💨
The European Commission recently announced plans to slap additional tariffs of up to 38.1% on Chinese-made electric vehicles. But not everyone is on board. Simon Schutz, spokesperson for the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), told CGTN that the German automobile industry isn't feeling these tariffs.
\"Tariffs aren't the way to resolve this trade conflict,\" Schutz said.
Germany's carmakers believe that open trade is the road to success, and they're voicing concerns that these tariffs could spark a trade war. And let's be real, nobody wants that drama! 😬
This move by the EU has sparked a lot of chatter in the auto world. Will tariffs rev up competition or just stall progress?
