China isn't having it! 🇨🇳🔥 On Tuesday, China voiced strong opposition to a U.S. report labeling it as a \"country of primary concern\" when it comes to trade barriers.
The U.S. National Trade Estimate Report on Foreign Trade Barriers, released on March 29, accused China of having \"non-market\" policies and practices, as well as barriers on agricultural products and data policies. But according to a spokesperson from China's Ministry of Commerce, the report \"provided no evidence\" that China violated any World Trade Organization (WTO) rules.
Since joining the WTO, China says it has been totally committed to supporting the multilateral trading system. They've been opening up markets, improving legal systems, and it's been \"highly recognized by the international community,\" said the spokesperson.
But the spokesperson didn't hold back on the U.S.! 😲 They pointed out that the U.S., with its \"America first\" policy, has been throwing up unilateral tariffs, pushing discriminatory industrial policies, and abusing export controls—all in the name of \"national security.\" Plus, the U.S. is limiting foreign companies from participating in government procurement.
China's message? The U.S. needs to stop making \"false accusations,\" play by the WTO rules, and help uphold a fair and equitable international trade order.
Trade tensions between these two giants are heating up! Stay tuned to see how this economic showdown unfolds. 🌍💼
