China-Central Asia Trade Tops $100B: A New Milestone

🌍 In a standout achievement for 2025, trade between the Chinese mainland and five Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – surged past $100 billion for the first time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced this Monday.

During a press briefing, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun highlighted customs data showing this landmark figure. "This breakthrough defies the sluggish global economic growth and challenges facing the international trading system," Guo said, underlining the resilience of China-Central Asia cooperation.

The milestone reflects robust momentum in 2025: enhanced China-Central Asia mechanisms, steady progress on Belt and Road projects, and deeper people-to-people exchanges. The successful Second China-Central Asia Summit last year set the stage for a new phase of high-quality collaboration, Guo added.

Analysts point out that infrastructure investments – from rail networks to energy pipelines – played a key role in boosting trade flows. 🚂⚡ Meanwhile, joint ventures in tech and agriculture have flourished, creating jobs and strengthening regional ties.

Looking ahead, Guo Jiakun said China stands ready to work with its Central Asian partners to build on this momentum. "We will carry forward the China-Central Asia spirit, promote innovation-led cooperation, and strive for results that benefit all," he promised, envisioning a closer community with a shared future.

For young entrepreneurs and investors eyeing emerging markets, the $100 billion milestone signals exciting opportunities in sectors like green energy, digital trade and logistics. 🌱💻
