Museveni Tops Ugandan Election with 71.6% of the Vote

🎉 Incumbent President Yoweri Museveni has claimed victory in Uganda’s presidential election, the Electoral Commission announced on Saturday at Kampala’s National Tally Center. Museveni swept up a whopping 71.6% of the vote after Thursday’s polls.

His closest rival, pop-star-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi – widely known as Bobi Wine 🎤 – trailed with 24.7%. The remaining votes were split among six other contenders.

Despite tight security 🔒 across polling stations, election day remained calm nationwide. Voters queued early, turned out in strong numbers, and peacefully cast their ballots.

For many young Ugandans, this result underscores the power of incumbency and the uphill climb newcomers face. As Museveni kicks off what will be his sixth term, all eyes are on how his extended rule will shape Uganda’s future. 🌍✨
