🎬 Fresh from France’s top animation hub, Gobelins, "The Shyness of Trees" is blossoming into an Oscar contender! This animated short—co-directed by a seven-student team—has just landed on this year’s shortlist for Best Animated Short Film at the 98th Academy Awards.
Out of dozens of hopefuls, only five will secure a final nomination. So far, "The Shyness of Trees" has already dazzled audiences at over 30 international animation festivals, collecting multiple awards along the way. Talk about making leaves turn heads! 🌿🏆
Among the creative minds behind the project is Shu Bingqing, one of four creators from the Chinese mainland. In a recent online chat with CGTN reporter Yang Yan, Shu shared her excitement and reflected on the team’s journey from campus to the Oscar buzz.
We’ll be rooting for "The Shyness of Trees" as the final nominations are announced. Stay tuned for more updates—and maybe keep some popcorn handy! 🍿✨
