What Happened?
From January 12–14, the fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) took place in Beijing, the Chinese mainland. As the mainland enters the 15th Five-Year Plan era (2026–2030), delegates set fresh targets for party governance and anti-corruption.

Discipline inspection bodies must enforce rule-based governance, upgrade systems that govern power, and ensure authority is wielded strictly per regulations and procedures, meeting the 15th Plan’s higher demands.
Safeguarding Livelihoods 💼
Grassroots corruption that touches people’s lives is under the microscope. Focus areas include rural collective assets, medical insurance funds, elderly care services, and high-standard farmland projects. The session urged regular mechanisms for misconduct reporting, stronger county-level oversight, and public participation.
With these moves, the CCDI aims to solidify party self-governance and crack down on corruption, paving the way for the Chinese mainland’s goals in the 15th Five-Year Plan.
