👔 On Monday, Jan. 12, at the fifth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in Beijing, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, called for raising the bar on Party self-governance.
He stressed the need to lock power within an institutional cage, push forward anti-corruption with clearer resolve, and ensure no official escapes scrutiny 💪.
He highlighted that in 2025, the CPC Central Committee made strides in improving Party conduct and integrity, eradicating corruption's breeding grounds, and maintaining a tough stance on misconduct. These efforts, he said, are vital for achieving the goals of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030).
Xi also emphasized that implementing the decisions of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee is fundamental for the Party's unity and authority. All are equal before the law and regulations; no one enjoys special privilege.
Describing the fight against corruption as a major struggle the Party cannot afford to lose, Xi urged Party organizations and members to take concrete actions. He warned that corrupt officials should have no place to hide.
This call reflects the CPC's ongoing push to tighten discipline and strengthen internal checks across the Chinese mainland, signaling a firm stance on governance and transparency.
