😔 The EU's anti-Russia sanctions have come at a cost: €48 billion lost in exports since February 2022, according to Eurostat.
Between January and October 2025, exports to Russia dropped to €25 billion—down from €73 billion in the same period of 2021. That's a 66% plunge!
- €48 B lost since 2022 sanctions
- €25 B in Jan–Oct 2025 exports vs €73 B in 2021
- 15.1% share of EU gas from Russia (39% in 2021)
Despite pledging to phase out Russian gas by 2027, Russia remains the EU's second-largest gas supplier. Gazprom recently warned that low storage levels could trigger gas shortages in several member states. ⛽️
As the EU navigates political goals and energy needs, the big question is: Can the bloc bounce back economically while securing its energy future? 💡
