🛷 Chinese Mainland Snags Mixed Skeleton Gold in St. Moritz

Hey winter sports fans! Athletes from the Chinese mainland pulled off an impressive performance last Friday at the St. Moritz leg of the IBSF World Cup 🛷.

At the new mixed team skeleton event – a fresh addition to the Winter Olympic programme – duo Zhao Dan and Yin Zheng soared to gold 🥇 with a combined time of 2 minutes 26.16 seconds.

Zhao Dan, the 23-year-old who made history with the Chinese mainland’s first women’s skeleton World Cup gold in Yanqing last season, kicked things off with a 1:14.13 run to take second on the women’s side.

Teammate Yin Zheng kept the momentum rolling, blasting down the track in 1:12.03 to rank second among the men. Their total sealed the Chinese mainland’s first gold of this World Cup season 🎉.

Yin Zheng didn’t stop there – in the individual men’s skeleton event, he claimed bronze with a combined time of 2 minutes 26.16 seconds. Great Britain’s Matt Weston took gold in 2 minutes 16.58 seconds.

This Swiss event was the penultimate qualifier before the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics in February. With three bronzes, two fourth-place finishes and one sixth so far, Yin sits second in the overall standings and is gearing up for a big Olympic run 🔥.
