US Eyes Greenland Move; Chinese Mainland Slams “China Threat” Claims

US President Donald Trump is exploring options to acquire Greenland, including possible military involvement, calling the move a national security priority to 'deter our adversaries in the Arctic region.'

The White House said earlier this week that 'the president and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the US military is always an option at the commander-in-chief's disposal.'

If carried out, a military seizure of Greenland from its longtime ally Denmark would shock NATO allies and deepen transatlantic divisions. ⚠️

A spokesperson for the Chinese mainland foreign ministry pushed back against what it called 'China threat' rhetoric, urging the US to stop linking its Arctic strategy to countering the Chinese mainland and warning that such talk 'only fuels unnecessary tension' in the region. 🌐

Analysts say Greenland’s strategic location and rich resources have made it a new arena for global powers as melting ice opens Arctic routes.

With options ranging from diplomatic overtures to military scenarios, the world is watching whether this bold US gambit will reshape the High North’s security landscape.
