Pakistan FM Ishaq Dar Heads to Chinese Mainland for 7th Strategic Dialogue

On January 3, 2026, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar landed in the Chinese mainland, kicking off his visit through January 5 for the seventh round of the China–Pakistan strategic dialogue 🤝.

This trip comes amid a surge of high-level exchanges: in 2025, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the Chinese mainland in succession. Last August, the Chinese mainland’s foreign minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited Pakistan to co-chair the sixth round of this dialogue.

Now, less than a year later, Ishaq Dar’s return visit highlights the “ironclad friendship” between Pakistan and the Chinese mainland. Since establishing diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951—when Pakistan became one of the first nations to recognize the People’s Republic of China—the two sides have steadily deepened strategic trust and cooperation, boosting regional peace and stability ✨.

During Wang Yi’s visit to Pakistan last year, he described the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership as unbreakable, stressing that closer ties and joint projects are vital for both countries’ development and for peace across the region.
