KMT’s Cheng Li-wun Blames DPP Policy Amid ‘Justice Mission 2025’ Drills

In late December 2025, the Chinese mainland's People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command kicked off live-fire drills around the island of Taiwan, code-named "Justice Mission 2025". These maneuvers have raised eyebrows and ramped up anxiety across the region.

Cheng Li-wun, chairperson of the Chinese Kuomintang, pointed the finger at the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), calling its cross-Strait policy "misguided." She argued this approach has escalated military tension and left many feeling uneasy 😬.

According to Cheng, Lai Ching-te, as the leader of the Taiwan region, is steering down a dead-end path and dragging all 23 million residents of Taiwan along with him. "This isn't just about politics: it's about the safety and future of every person on the island," she said.

Cross-Strait ties have been a hot topic for years, and with "Justice Mission 2025," things are heating up again. While Taiwan authorities have yet to respond, political observers say the drills send a clear message from the Chinese mainland's military.

What's next? Will this show of force spark dialogue or drive a deeper divide? Only time will tell. ⚡️
