New Sichuan Giant Panda Base Starts Trial Operations 🐼

🐼 Today (Monday, December 29, 2025), in a milestone for conservation enthusiasts, the Mianyang base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda on the Chinese mainland began trial operations. Spanning 120 hectares of lush bamboo forests, this panda paradise is designed to welcome up to 22,000 visitors a day.

The facility features:

  • 54 specialized enclosures for pandas of all ages
  • State-of-the-art breeding and medical care centers
  • Dedicated rescue and rehabilitation operations
  • Interactive public education programs

In November 2025, 20 giant pandas were relocated to Mianyang. After more than a month of careful acclimatization and monitoring, all of the pandas have adapted beautifully to their new home. Visitors can now catch a first glimpse of these adorable cuties as they explore their spacious habitats. 🎉

This trial phase will help staff fine-tune daily operations and visitor experiences before a full public opening in early 2026. Whether you’re a wildlife fan, a student of conservation, or just looking for an unforgettable adventure, this new base is set to become a must-visit highlight in Sichuan!
