Jin Boyang Skates to Gold at Harbin Nationals

Harbin was 🔥 this weekend as two-time Olympian Jin Boyang soared to gold at China’s National Figure Skating Championships. With every jump and spin, he reminded us why he’s a skating superstar! ⛸️🏆

Competing last among 24 skaters, Jin built an early lead in the short program and stayed on top in the free skate despite a hiccup on his triple Axel. He racked up 185.21 points in the free skate and finished with a total of 277.76.

Silver went to Chen Yudong, while Peng Zhiming claimed bronze, proving China has serious depth in men’s skating right now.

With spots for the 2026 Winter Olympics to be decided based on results from the 2025–26 ISU Grand Prix Cup of China and this Nationals event, Jin’s win is a huge confidence boost. He previously placed fifth at the Cup of China in October, edging out rivals Peng Zhiming and Dai Dawei.

"From the Cup of China to the Japan leg, and then to the National Championships, I think my form has been getting better with each competition. That is real progress for me. While my rankings have been solid so far, I still strive for perfection, and I think there were a still a few flaws in my free skate performance today," said Jin.

On the women’s side, 14-year-old phenom Jin Shuxian stole the show by defending her title. She delivered an almost flawless free skate, blending technical precision with artistry to finish at 208.85 points (139.77 in the free skate). Zhang Ruiyang grabbed silver and Zhu Yi took bronze.

As the countdown to Milan-Cortina 2026 begins, Chinese fans are pumped to see these ice champs chase Olympic glory! ❄️🏅
