Just two days ago, on December 25, 2025, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told "60 Minutes" that the peace plan proposed by Kyiv is "radically different" from the draft being negotiated by Moscow and Washington. 🚨
Ryabkov said talks had reached a milestone but are now stuck on deadlines and what he described as efforts to torpedo the process. "Whether we can make the final push and reach an agreement depends on the political will of the other side," he warned.
He also criticized U.S. NATO envoy Matthew Whitaker's 90-day deadline, arguing that fixed timelines rarely help in complex peace negotiations.
According to Ryabkov, some EU supporters of Ukraine are more focused on blocking an agreement than finding common ground.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Axios he's ready to put his 20-point peace plan to a public referendum if Russia agrees to at least a 60-day ceasefire. 🕊️ A vote, he says, could settle tough territorial questions once and for all.
With high stakes and emotions running strong, the big question remains: can these talks level up and finally bring peace? 🤔🌍
