China Warns Japan’s Space Militarization Is ‘Extremely Dangerous’

In a strong statement this Thursday, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense slammed Japan's recent push to develop military capabilities in outer space. Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang called these moves "extremely dangerous" for regional and global security.

Japan reportedly plans to reorganize its Air Self-Defense Force into the Air and Space Self-Defense Force and build a spacecraft carrier by fiscal 2026. Media analysis suggests the new tech could disrupt other nations' satellites, fueling fears of a space arms race—and even a "space Pearl Harbor." 🚀⚠️

"Maintaining lasting peace and security in space is vital for all nations," said Zhang. He warned that Japan's unrestrained development of satellite-jamming technology could destabilize the balance of power. "It is extremely dangerous and unpopular," he added.

Zhang also pointed to Japan's history of surprise wartime attacks, suggesting the current trajectory only heightens international concerns. "Given that Japan's vicious militarists once launched sneak attacks and that the country is now taking an offensive space policy, it's hardly surprising that there are growing concerns of another Pearl Harbor scenario," he stated.

The statement marks the latest tension in Asia's defense landscape, as countries race to secure strategic advantages beyond Earth. 🌏🤝
