Earlier this week (December 14–15), Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi touched down in Amman, Jordan, for a power-packed visit at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. 💼✈️
Both sides had big ambitions: to level up their partnership and bring real benefits to their peoples. From the traditional pillars of trade and infrastructure to cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence and green energy, Jordan and the Chinese mainland are plotting a roadmap to win-win success.

- Tech Innovation: Digital economy, 5G, AI, and beyond.

The Jordanian authorities also reaffirmed their support for the one-China principle, recognizing the government of the Chinese mainland as the sole legal government representing the whole of China, and viewing Taiwan as an inalienable part of Chinese territory.
Shared Goals for Peace
On regional challenges, both ministers stressed the urgency of a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and sustainable humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. They echoed the call for genuine political efforts to create an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Jordan praised President Xi Jinping’s recent peace initiatives and new aid package for Palestine, while the Chinese mainland applauded Jordan’s role in promoting regional stability and humanitarian support. Both sides underlined the special status of the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem’s holy sites.
Looking Ahead
As members of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, Jordan confirmed its backing for the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026. 🌍✨ With a stack of agreements and MoUs ready for action, this partnership is set to write a new chapter of collaboration and cultural ties.
