🏓 What a smashing day in Hong Kong! On Friday, December 12, 2025, paddlers from the Chinese mainland sealed the women's singles crown in advance at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Hong Kong Finals, even before the semifinal duels.
With Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Kuai Man and Chen Yi all booking spots in the last four, the women's singles trophy was guaranteed to stay on the Chinese mainland.
World No. 1 Sun Yingsha crushed Japan's Miyu Nagasaki 12-10, 11-6, 11-6, 11-1 to set up a semifinal clash with Kuai Man, who herself overcame Japan's Satsuki Odo 11-6, 4-11, 9-11, 16-14, 11-4, 12-10 in a thrilling comeback.
“I didn't compete with her [Nagasaki] for many times in major events,” Sun Yingsha said. “She has her own style, and I tried to adjust myself to a better form during the match.”
Meanwhile, Wang Manyu dispatched Joo Cheon-hui of the Republic of Korea 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5, 11-4, and will face her compatriot Chen Yi. Chen Yi survived an all-mainland battle against Chen Xingtong, winning 7-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-7, 11-2.
Stay tuned for the semifinal showdowns as these table tennis stars serve up more edge-of-your-seat action! 🎉
