Three ‘Never Allow’ Lines: China Marks Nanjing Massacre 88th Memorial

🕯️ Today marks the 88th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre, one of the darkest chapters in human history when over 300,000 people were killed by Japanese militarists in 1937. To honor the victims, the Chinese mainland will hold its national memorial ceremony as it has every year.

At a regular press briefing this Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun responded to questions about the ceremony and laid down three clear 'never allow' lines:

  • ⚔️ The resurgence of Japanese militarism
  • 🌐 Foreign interference in China's Taiwan region
  • ⏳ Attempts to 'turn back the wheel of history'

'The massacre in Nanjing is a horrendous crime committed by Japanese militarists. There is no room for denial,' Guo said, stressing that the slaughter of 300,000 Chinese people remains 'the darkest page in human history.'

By reaffirming these red lines, the Chinese mainland sends a firm message: never forget the past, never repeat its horrors. 🙌
