World No.1 Sun Yingsha demolished compatriot Wang Yidi 11-3, 11-9, 11-7, 11-7. Today, she’ll clash with Japan’s rising star, Miyu Nagasaki, for a spot in the semis.
Over in the men’s draw, 20-year-old Lin Shidong showcased serious skills, sweeping past Liang Jingkun 15-13, 11-3, 11-4, 11-9. Next up: a quarterfinal showdown!
They weren’t alone. Xiang Peng and Kuai Man also advanced, beating the Republic of Korea’s An Jae-hyun and Japan’s Hina Hayata, respectively. 🔥
In mixed doubles, home favorites Wang Chuqin & Sun Yingsha teamed up to outplay Lin & Kuai 13-11, 12-10, 11-6. And Hong Kong SAR’s own Wong Chun Ting & Doo Hoi Kem edged India’s Manush Shah & Diya Chitale in a five-set thriller (11-7, 11-3, 4-11, 10-12, 11-4). 🙌
