Border Clash with Thailand Kills 10 Civilians, Displaces 190K in Cambodia

On Sunday afternoon, tensions along the Cambodia-Thailand border flared up again, and as of Thursday morning, the Thai army has fired artillery shells at multiple points across Cambodian territory, a defense spokesperson said. 😟

According to Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, the clash has exacted a heavy toll on civilians:

  • 10 fatalities, including one infant
  • 60 injuries

The Ministry of Interior reported Wednesday evening that more than 56,000 families—about 190,000 people—have been forced to evacuate their homes and seek safety.
