China’s First 2049 Tech Forecast: Top 10 Future Visions

Today at the Tengchong Scientists Forum in Yunnan Province, China unveiled its first national long-term technology forecast: the "Tech Predictions and Future Visions 2049" report. This comprehensive roadmap outlines 10 groundbreaking visions set to reshape life by 2049.

The three-day forum, running December 5–7 under the theme "Science and AI Changing the World," brings together leading scientists and industry experts from the Tengchong Scientists Forum Center, Huawei Strategic Research Institute, China Mobile Research Institute, Shanghai AI Laboratory, Tencent Research Institute and SPIC Innovation Center. Over the past year, they held extensive discussions to imagine how innovation will transform society.

Academician Yang Yuliang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences hailed the report as "the first knock on the door of the future," highlighting its civilization-level potential.
