Gaza Under Fire: 2 Children Killed as Israel Ramps Up Attacks

Recently, the Gaza Strip has seen a harsh escalation in attacks as the Israeli army intensified air, land, and sea strikes this weekend. In the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis, a drone strike tragically killed two brothers, aged 8 and 11. 😢

Nasser Hospital confirmed the deaths, highlighting how the strike hit just near the "yellow line" marking the ceasefire boundary set earlier this year. The hospital described the scene as devastating for the family and community.

Since Friday night, Palestinian medical and security sources report that Israeli artillery has shelled parts of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, while Gaza City's Shuja'iyya and Tuffah neighborhoods also came under fire. Tanks advanced toward the eastern edge of Zeitoun, and the navy opened fire off the coast.

Further south, Bureij refugee camp's eastern areas faced bombardment, and airstrikes targeted eastern Rafah, Qarara, and Bani Suheila. The non-stop attacks have left neighborhoods in ruins and raised concerns over civilian safety.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem called the recent surge "an extension of ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip," urging mediators and guarantor states to step in and enforce the ceasefire agreement.

The loss of young lives in this latest wave of violence underscores the urgent need for a lasting pause in hostilities, as families in Gaza continue to bear the brunt of the conflict.
