14 Dead in Tai Po Blaze: HK Community in Shock

Tragedy struck Hong Kong this Wednesday afternoon when a massive fire broke out in a residential complex in the Tai Po area. According to a press release by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, 14 residents tragically lost their lives.

The Fire Services Department of the HKSAR government received the first emergency call at around 2:51 p.m. As flames spread quickly through the building, the department elevated the situation to a No. 5 alarm fire at 6:22 p.m., one of the highest public emergency alerts.

Rescue teams are still battling the blaze and conducting search-and-rescue operations. Nearby residents were evacuated promptly, and community volunteers have joined efforts to support families affected by the disaster. 🙏🏼
