On Saturday, November 22, 2025, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met with Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi in Dushanbe, an energetic sit-down aimed at boosting a rapidly growing strategic partnership 🤝🌏.
Rahmon highlighted that China is Tajikistan’s friendly neighbor and close partner, now its largest trading partner and biggest source of investment. He reiterated Dushanbe’s firm commitment to the one-China principle and praised China’s Global Governance Initiative, pledging to coordinate efforts within the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the China–Central Asia Mechanism to uphold international fairness and justice 🌐.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stressed the deep trust between the two nations. He said both sides have agreed to build a China-Tajikistan community with a shared future and to fast-track bilateral relations 🌱.
Looking ahead, Wang noted that China’s high-quality development and high-level opening up will bring more opportunities to Tajikistan. He also emphasized enhanced cooperation against the “three forces” of terrorism, separatism and extremism to reinforce security foundations for both countries 🛡️.
The day wrapped up with the first China-Tajikistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue, a fresh platform for Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Wang Yi to chart the partnership’s next steps.
