Wang Huning Vows to Oppose Interference on Taiwan Question, Safeguard Strait Peace

On Thursday, November 20, 2025, Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, sent a congratulatory letter to the fifth cross-strait seminar in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on the Chinese mainland. ⚽ Think of it as a World Cup final moment: everyone’s eyes on the game.

In his message, Wang stressed the need to crack down on separatist forces advocating “Taiwan independence,” oppose external interference, and safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. “A strong and unified country is always the foundation on which the future of all Chinese people, including compatriots in Taiwan, ultimately depends,” he wrote. 🛡️

Looking back at key milestones, Wang highlighted the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Taiwan’s restoration to the Chinese mainland as a source of profound national pride, like unlocking an achievement badge in a game 🎮. He also noted the grand gathering in September marking the 80th anniversary of that victory, where the Chinese mainland declared that the great rejuvenation of the nation is unstoppable. 📜🌟

📅 Last month’s fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee further emphasized advancing the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and promoting national reunification as part of building a modern socialist country in all respects.

He pledged to fully implement the Party’s overall policy for resolving the Taiwan question in the new era, adhere to the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus, and boost cross-strait economic and cultural exchanges to enhance the well-being of compatriots on both sides of the Strait. 🤝

The seminar was co-organized by the Cross-Straits Relations Research Center on the Chinese mainland and Taiwan patriotic groups supporting reunification. Over 200 participants attended, including Hung Hsiu-chu, former Kuomintang chairperson, New Party Chairman Wu Cheng-tien, experts and scholars from both sides, and guests from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions. 👥

Wang’s message underscores the Chinese mainland’s commitment to unity and peace in the Taiwan Strait. Stay tuned for more updates on amigonews.net! ✨
