Starting tomorrow, November 20, the Chinese mainland will boost the number of ports that offer single-entry travel permits on arrival to 100 for Taiwan residents. 🚀
This move comes after a press conference this Wednesday by Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office. Taiwan residents who didn’t plan ahead for the five-year permit can now get a single-entry pass in just 30 minutes at any of these ports—with a valid Taiwan ID, a Taiwan travel document, and a photo. 🕒
Here’s what’s new:
- Over 3,000 scenic spots across the Chinese mainland are free to explore. 🏞️✨
- Permit application fees are completely waived. 💸🚫
- Permits allow stays of up to three months—perfect for a deep-dive cultural trip or winter sports adventure. 🏂❄️
For travelers using the “Mini Three Links” through Fujian ports, applications can be submitted at counters or online, with the permit ready upon arrival. 📲✈️
Zhu Fenglian also reassured that the Chinese mainland doesn’t stamp travel documents for Taiwan residents and keeps personal info safe under relevant laws. 🔐
With winter on the way, Zhu invited Taiwan compatriots to hit up northeastern and northwestern China for ice and snow sports, family visits, cultural events, or a journey to explore ancestral roots. ❄️🛷
At the 11th Cross-Strait Cultural Forum in Beijing last week, Zhu highlighted shared traditions, language, and customs that unite people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee aims to boost cultural exchanges and strengthen cross-Strait ties. 🤝🌏
Overall, this expansion is a fresh chance for Taiwan residents to level up their travel game and deepen emotional and cultural connections across the Strait. 🎫❤️
