GBA unity at the heart of the 15th National Games 🐎🤝
On November 10, the equestrian events of China’s 15th National Games kicked off at the Shenzhen Guangming International Equestrian Centre. For the first time, the Games are hosted across Guangdong Province in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao — a milestone for Greater Bay Area integration.
Catalyzing One Country, Two Systems in action
Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, CEO of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, highlighted how the multi-region event breaks down barriers in visas, logistics and testing. “It shows Hong Kong is fully part of one nation,” he said, underscoring the "One Country, Two Systems" framework at work.
Building a can-do spirit in the next generation
Beyond funding — HK$450 million in Hong Kong and 50 million yuan in Guangdong Province — the club offers technical support in venue design, anti-doping and integrity management. These efforts promote discipline, resilience and a lasting spirit of improvement among young people.
Looking ahead
The club’s Conghua Racecourse in Guangzhou has already created jobs for around 1,000 local residents. An international race planned for 2026 will be broadcast in over 20 countries, further showcasing the Greater Bay Area’s unity and shared vision. 🌏🏆
