Zhejiang’s Pan Zhanle had the lead early, but after the turn Zhang unleashed a game-changing surge, leaving Pan to settle for bronze 🥉 and Shandong’s Ji Xinjie with silver 🥈.
In a dramatic twist, Pan’s superstar teammate Sun Yang, a big name expected to shine at the Chinese mainland's biggest domestic meet, was disqualified after a false start.

Breaststroke ace Tang Qianting from Shanghai touched first in the women’s 100m breaststroke (1:05.36), and Hubei’s backstroke specialist Peng Xuwei took the 100m back in 59.60.
